SLECA 2016 Officer of the Year
Officer Jason Hutchinson
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Division of Law Enforcement
Officer Hutchinson joined Fish and Wildlife in 2012 and excels at FWC’s core mission enforcement. Over the last year, his enforcement efforts have produced more than 232 written citations and warnings, with more than 70 of these cases being for misdemeanor or felony level charges. He also created a program in conjunction with the local courts in which juvenile violators speak to their peers during hunter education classes, counting towards their community service hours and keeping the focus of their community service on resource conservation. In addition to his impressive caseload, which exceeds that of any other officer in his Captain’s four county region, Officer Hutchinson has taught several hunter education classes and has assisted in the Blackwater Family Hunt and in Mobility Impaired Hunts. During these events, he has been an integral part of the effort to provide participants with the assistance and support they need to ensure a memorable outdoor experience. Officer Hutchinson goes above and beyond to serve the citizens and visitors of Florida.
